An Invitation

Marmion Abbey Living QuartersEarly on in Christ's Public Ministry He invited Andrew and Peter to "Come and See" where He lived and how He lived. Ever since that time Our Savior has continued to extend that invitation to countless men and women by calling them to the priesthood or the religious life.

The call of God to "Seek Him Alone" is at once a very personal matter, yet it is also a part of the call to ministry in the larger Church. Each person must discern for himself the authenticity of this call. And yet it is helpful to learn that others have wrestled with God over the centuries and when accepting His Call have lived lives that were fulfilling and grace giving.

Brother Paul, Brother Patrick, Brother Nathanael, Brother Mark and Brother Thomas make their temporary profession of vows.If you feel an attraction to the monastic way of life at Marmion Abbey, I extend to you the same invitation that Jesus Christ offered to Andrew and Peter, "Come and See!" God may be calling you to a life filled with graces and blessings as He has called other men before you who have entered and served Him as a monk of Marmion Abbey.

Peace,
Father Abbot Vincent Bataille, O.S.B.
