Tuition, Scholarships and Financial Aid: Tuition Tuition for the 2007-2008 school year is $8,300. Additional costs include: The actual cost of educating a Marmion student in 2007 - 2008 is $9,780. As an independent school, Marmion receives no financial support from the Roman Catholic Diocese of Rockford or its parishes. The difference between tuition and this cost is made up by contributed services from the Benedictine monks of Marmion Abbey, the Academy endowment, and the support of generous benefactors who contribute to the Academy Annual Fund and the annual Salute to Youth dinner. More information about ways to support Marmion are available on the Development webpage. Tuition may be paid in three ways: For more information about tuition payment plans, email Kathy Schwartz in the Business Office. Scholarships: All Marmion scholarships are drawn from endowed funds. Three scholarships are set aside for the relatives of Marmion alumni. The scholarship's value is divided equally over four years. The scholarship's value does not change even though tuition changes. Recipients are to maintain a B average. Roman Catholic students are preferred in the awarding of scholarships, but all applicants are eligible for a scholarship. Academic Scholarships * Rev. Sebastian Crow, OSB, Memorial Alumni Association
Scholarship ($16,800) * Marmion Alumni Association scholarships are reserved for sons, grandsons, brothers or nephews of Marmion Academy alumni. Financial Aid A limited amount of tuition aid based on family need is also available. In 2006 - 2007, $286,094 was awarded to 20% of Marmion's students. The average award in 2006 - 2007 was $2804. To apply for financial aid: complete the School and Student Services (SSS) Parent Financial Statement (PFS) or request a packet by mail. Online application greatly facilitates processing of your application for aid. Financial aid decisions are made once a recommendation is received from the School and Student Service for Financial Aid. Not all families will receive aid, as funds are limited. Therefore, it is essential that families and guardians complete and return the forms as early as possible. Aid awards are for two years only. At the end of a student's sophomore year, applications are sent to a family to re-apply for the final two years. Transportation: Many of the students at Marmion arrange car pools to school. In August during Freshman registration you will receive information to assist you in locating car pools in your area. Marmion also offers a shuttle service (for an additional fee per athletic season) to and from the MARTA train station in Aurora. Information about the shuttle service will also be available at Freshman Registration. Request for Information: Click here to request further information about Marmion Academy. |
