General Information
Marmion seeks young men of good character who are able and willing to do college-preparatory work. The school's policy is to admit students of any race, color, or national or ethnic origin. Candidates are requested to submit an application, a written essay, previous school transcripts, a school recommendation, and results of an entrance exam. Students are accepted into grades 9 - 10, with most entering into grade 9. Second-semester enrollment is contingent upon spaces available for grades 9 and 10.

Admissions Application
All candidates for admission to Marmion Academy must fill out an application and send it into Marmion's Admissions Office with a $50 non-refundable applications fee.

Catholic & Benedictine
Conducted by the Benedictine priests and brothers of Marmion Abbey, Marmion Academy emphasizes a Catholic approach to education. This approach focuses on developing young men of strong faith and moral values who lead healthy and productive lives.

Academically Challenging
Marmion prepares students to succeed in college. To this end, Marmion provides a strong college preparatory curriculum, classes which average only 27 students, and a willingness to assign homework and make other academic demands which go beyond what many other high schools require.

All Male
In a single-sex learning environment, students enjoy an open and honest camaraderie. They are freed from the concerns and distractions of gender roles to focus on learning.

Character Building
Emphasis is on developing leaders with self-discipline and organizational skills. Students benefit from meeting firm, reasonable standards in regards to behavior, appearance, and academic performance. Marmion offers its students an option of taking the "JROTC" or "LEAD" program.

Faculty
The faculty includes 36 lay teachers and 14 Benedictines. Over 80% of faculty hold master's degrees or Ph.D.'s. and average more than 14 years of teaching experience. 

Financial Assistance and Scholarships
 The Marmion Academy financial assistance program enables the Academy to enroll qualified students whose families demonstrate need and are unable to meet all school expenses. Effort is made to meet the needs of students throughout the entire school. This total approach to assistance enables Marmion to enroll a diversified and talented student body.
     

Endowments, the Alumni Association, and Annual Giving generate funds for the financial assistance program. Parents must submit the Parents' Financial Statement to the school and Student Service for Financial Aid in Princeton, New Jersey. Using the data provided by the school and Student Service, the Academy meets needs until funds are exhausted.
     

Financial assistance decisions are made only after a student has been accepted to Marmion. In 2007-2008, nearly one-fourth of Marmion students were awarded more than $408,694 in need-based grants and merit scholarships. Merit Scholarships are awarded to incoming freshmen on the basis of character and scholastic potential as determined by the competitive HSPT entrance examination taken by prospective 8th grade students on December 1, 2007 at 9:00 am.

There will be three alumni legacy scholarships awarded this year:

• Rev. Alcuin Deck, OSB Alumni Association Scholarship
• Rev. Peter Enderlin, OSB Memorial Alumni Association Scholarship

(These scholarship are awarded based on a students performance on the Scholarship Qualifying Entrance Exam held on December 1, 2007. The recipient must be the son, brother, grandson or nephew of a Marmion Alumnus.)
