Each student and his family receive a cost reduction (commonly known in private schools as the tuition gap). The tuition charged is $2,400 less than the actual cost of educating a Marmion student. Marmion does not receive any funding from the Rockford Diocese, as we are not a diocesan school, rather an institution owned and operated by the Monks of Marmion Abbey. Therefore, as a ‘self-funded’ learning community, we must rely on several revenue sources to keep the programming at the Academy at the high level of excellence that it is. This includes revenue generated from our Facility Rental Program, the Hammes Campus Store, and from the generous gifts we receive from members of the Marmion Family, including the Alumni Association and many benefactors through our advancement efforts. All families are required to sign up for a tuition payment plan for the 2024-2025 school year. The academy offers four tuition payment options, which we hope will help you in meeting the costs of your son’s Catholic education. These payment plans are:
For the upcoming 2024-2025, we are requiring all Marmion families utilize our partnership with Blackbaud Tuition Management. This partnership has been designed with flexibility and convenience in mind. You choose the payment dates and method that work best for you. The real advantage of using Blackbaud Tuition Management is the ability to automatically have your bank account debited or credit card charged for your tuition payments. After you initially setup the auto payment feature, you’ll never have to worry if your payment will arrive at school on time. NOTE: New families should enroll in the Blackbaud Tuition Management payment plans online by Friday, March 29th, 2024. Existing families will be automatically reenrolled. If you are a returning student family and not currently utilizing Blackbaud for payments to the school, you will need to enroll no later than April 9, 2024. Blackbaud Tuition Management charges a $40 annual administrative fee, which will be added to your first tuition payment. Blackbaud Tuition Management payments cover tuition and the fees. For more information about tuition payment plans, visit www.parent.Blackbaudtuition.com or email Robyn O’Brien (robrien@marmion.org) in the Finance Office. We are confident that these options will facilitate your financial planning. They also help minimize Marmion’s administrative costs and thereby allow us to continue investing more in the educational expenses, which will directly benefit your son(s).
All Marmion scholarships are funded from invested funds or the Alumni Association. The scholarship award is disbursed over four years. Recipients are to maintain a B average. Candidates of the Roman Catholic faith will be given particular consideration, but all applicants are eligible for a scholarship. This year's Scholarship Qualifying Entrance Exam is Saturday, December 2, 2023.
Four-Year Academic Scholarships available to the Class of 2028
Total value of these 14 scholarships is $328,000
* Marmion Alumni Association scholarships are reserved for sons, grandsons, nephews or brothers of Marmion alumni/current students.
Any student who tests at Marmion on December 2, 2023 and scores in the top 90th percentile will automatically receive a $1,000 academic scholarship for the 2024-2025 school year.
Marmion Academy has a financial aid program to assist families with the cost of tuition. Families must apply for financial aid each year. In 2023-2024, Marmion awarded $894,000 in need-based financial aid to 40% of its students for an average award of $5,418 per student. The Marmion “Working for Your Education Program” is designed for financial aid recipients only. In exchange for the financial aid awarded, students are expected to work their allotted number of hours on campus. We have created a number of opportunities for students to fulfill their work requirements over summer break or during the school year. These opportunities include cleaning/maintaining school facilities and grounds, assisting with Abbey Farms Pumpkin Daze and Christmas tree sales, helping with various office/organizational projects, or performing any campus project with the proper authorization of a Marmion faculty/staff member. Completion of hours is a requirement for graduation and future financial aid awards. Once your son has been accepted or if your son is currently attending Marmion and you are interested in applying for financial aid for the 2024-2025 school year, please follow the steps below to submit your application online. The online application is now available.
The priority deadline for submitting your completed application with all supporting documents is Tuesday, February 6, 2024.
Applicants may be subject to an interview with a Marmion Financial Aid committee member. Financial aid decisions will be emailed to you by late March. Applications submitted after the priority deadline will only be reviewed if financial aid funds are available.
