Marmion Academy, founded in 1933, is a not-for-profit high school for young men, situated on a scenic 325 acre campus in Aurora IL, is operated by the Benedictine Priests and Brothers of Marmion Abbey. We offer a challenging college preparatory curriculum with a focus on spirituality and leadership to students coming from more than 40 towns throughout the northern part of Illinois. Students experience a sense of brotherhood in a single-sex learning environment. A Marmion education seeks to instill in young men the values and leadership skills that will enable them to fulfill their potential.
The Academy is blessed with the presence of ten Benedictine monks who serve as faculty, staff, or administration. The monastic community on the campus serves as the spiritual heart of the “Marmion Family.” Their balanced life of work, prayer, and community is the pattern for the type of family atmosphere experienced by the students and staff of Marmion Academy.
The dedicated lay men and women who collaborate with the monks at the Academy also work in a Benedictine spirit and help build Marmion’s distinctive Benedictine community. A community dedicated to spiritual formation, academic excellence and leadership development.

Since 1934, developing leadership skills has been an essential part of the Marmion Advantage. Students participate in one of two leadership programs: JROTC or LEAD (Leadership Education and Development). Each of these programs are supported with four years of coursework and outside activities.
JROTC courses teach leadership development and help motivate cadets to assume leadership positions in today’s world and to be better citizens. Cadets are familiarized with military courtesy and principles of organization.
Marmion’s LEAD Program is a comprehensive business leadership program designed to provide an educational foundation of practical leadership skills based on Christian values and ethics.
Marmion offers many additional opportunities for students to lead:
